Bad Weather/ Snow Routine
In the event of cold/bad/wet weather, please ensure that your child has a suitable coat, hat scarf and gloves so that they will keep warm and dry at playtime (wellington boots are great with a change of footwear/trousers for inside). When appropriate, children will only be allowed to play out in the snow if they have suitable clothing and footwear.
Please make sure everything is named.
Closure
In the event of a possible school closure, please check the notifications area of our website or listen to the following radio stations:
Key 103
GMR
Century Radio
Smooth Radio
Tameside Radio.
Every effort will be made to both update the website and send a parent mail out to all parents (If you are not signed up please collect a form at the office or download a copy from the "Forms" page) at the earliest opportunity. A decision will be made by 8.20am about any closures, allowing time for staff to attempt to get to school and parents to make alternative arrangements.
If we have to make a decision to send children home due to adverse weather conditions then you will be contacted directly by phone and a parent mail text sent out, please make sure your contact details held by the school are up to date.
Closing school and sending children home will only happen in extreme circumstances and we will endeavour to keep the school open at all times.
